Whataburger wait...

Good day to all!  The other day I walked into a Whataburger and sitting there waiting for his food was this guy.  I was kicking myself for leaving my sketchbook back at the studio.  So, I stole a few observational glances and later that night let it all pour out on the paper.  You should have seen him, he was OOOOZING with personality!  This character design doesn't even scratch the surface of the real thing.  Long live pencil & paper!

Observation!

I'm back again!  Okay, today we have some observational/life drawings.  I try to draw from life on a somewhat regular basis, it really helps with animation and character design.  Here's a few sketches from lunch at Luby's; a great place for drawing older folks.  The other other sketch is from my waiting to get my tire repaired. I try to take my sketch book wherever I go.

Lunchy sketches ,as usual. Had a bizarre deja vu moment in Potbelly's today when I noticed we were sitting next to the woman I drew at our first sketch lunch at Whataburger. She had her nose in a book as usual, and it reminded me that I need to find the sketchbook that holds those first doodles. Until then, other mugs.

A little Dance & Sports?

Some quick gesture drawings from the TUBE,

 I heard this phrase somewhere, "You should never sit in front of the TV without your sketch book" - It really works!  There are tons of things to draw on TV and you don't even have to go anywhere;  more time to DRAW!!!

Thor's Hammer!!

... Originally this guy wasn't actually Thor and didn't have anything to do with Thor, but Brad walked by and said he looked like Thor so I tossed in the hammer for kicks. :D

Dunno if this necessarily counts as PHetch material, but I doodled the initial sketch during some down-time at the office so maybe kinda sorta? :D
